Paul Steward - CEO
Paul Steward was raised on the Elem Indian Colony of Pomo Indians of the Sulphur Bank Rancheria. He learned about his tribal traditional culture from his Grandma Priscilla, Step-Grandpa Pete, Aunts & Uncles, and cousins. At age 12 he moved to Santa Rosa, California.
Paul graduated from Montgomery High School in Santa Rosa, CA, in 2003. He studied music briefly at the University of Nevada, Reno. After a semester, he returned to California and began studying at Santa Rosa Junior College part-time while doing music and performing full-time. He also observed and learned Native American tribal government business, culture, and politics from his father, Richard, and Richard's friends throughout his teenage years. Paul and his father Richard soon started performing as the world-famous band Twice As Good.
In 2008, he began the Business program, and in 2010, he graduated with his Associate of the Arts in Business Administration from Santa Rosa Junior College.
In 2010, he transferred to Sonoma State University, and in 2012, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from SSU.
After graduation, he took a couple of years to work and gain some experience with companies like Digital Prints and Imaging of Santa Rosa and Graton Resort and Casino of Rohnert Park.
In 2015, he returned to Sonoma State University and in 2017 graduated with a Master of Business Administration degree.
During his graduate studies, he began to co-lecture with Dr. Greg Sarris of the Graton Rancheria in the SSU course introducing local North Bay tribal history in the Native American Studies department in 2016.
In 2018, he worked on a 6-week project doing English language marketing for a Blockchain company in Tokyo, Japan; Early Works Ltd./Bexam Blockchain Cryptocurrency.
In 2019, he began teaching American Indian Studies at San Francisco State University.
2020-2021 COVID lockdowns were challenging. Paul began an Executive Doctorate of Business Administration program at St. Mary's College of California in Moraga, but due to the stresses of the lockdown and challenges with taking care of his family, he had to pause and take a break. He intends to start again in the future.
2022, Paul legally founded 2XG Records, the LLC, released his solo debut album "World Champion," and began an intermittent world tour over the next 2 years (Japan, Scotland, England, Belgium, Italy, and Switzerland)
Summer of 2023, Paul was appointed to the Art in Public Places Committee of the City of Santa Rosa by Councilmember Eddie Alvarez.
Fall Semester of 2023, he began teaching Native American Studies at Laney College and Business Administration at Santa Rosa Junior College.
September of 2023, Paul produced and released the 10th album by 2XG Records, Twice As Good's "The Second Coming". Â
In early 2024, Paul was featured as a member and performer at the San Francisco Chapter of the Recording Academy (the Grammys) Annual Member Party and Nominee Celebration.
Paul's father, Richard, retired in June 2024 after a magnificent career of 21 years as the rhythm guitarist and backup vocalist of Twice As Good. Richard passed away in April of 2025 but Paul carries on his legacy.
Paul was appointed the Faculty Coordinator to the Native American Center at the Santa Rosa Junior College in March of 2025, an administrative and faculty relations position.
Paul Steward's second solo album and eleventh career album, "You Can Dance to My Blues," was released in May 2025 on 2XG Records.
